Mustafizur Rahman Receives PRP Injection Amid IPL 2025 Speculation
Bangladesh’s star fast bowler, Mustafizur Rahman, received a PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injection on March 12, despite not having a new injury. This preventive treatment aims to manage discomfort in his left shoulder, which has troubled him since his 2016 injury and 2017 surgery.
Why Did Mustafizur Rahman Receive a PRP Injection?
According to a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) medical unit member, the injection was given to help alleviate occasional discomfort in his operated shoulder.
“He was given a PRP injection and will need some rest before returning to the field. He does not have any new injuries, but his left shoulder sometimes causes problems, and he manages it while playing,” the BCB official told Cricbuzz.
What is PRP Therapy?
PRP therapy involves injecting a concentrated amount of a patient’s own platelets into an affected area to reduce inflammation, promote tissue repair, and relieve pain. This treatment is commonly used in sports medicine to help athletes recover faster.
